1. Could you start by telling us a bit more about yourself?
I’m eighteen, I live in a small suburb about an hour away from Melbourne. Currently taking a gap year, just working and saving up to travel.

2. When did you start blogging and what aspired you to become a blogger?
My first ever post was made back in July 2011. I never really saw blogging as a career when I first started, it was just a hobby.

3. Was it tough when you started and tell us, how did you make your blog so well-known?
I guess you could say so, blogging back then wasn’t as common as it is now so it was difficult to reach a larger audience but now with so many different social media platforms, it’s much easier to promote yourself.

4. I’m quite aware that you would want to be a fashion designer right? Could you give us a little bit of insight on why do you chose that as your career path.
As long as I can recall, I’ve always loved clothes and drawing. My mother is a dressmaker and I’ve grown up watching her design and create her own clothes. As I’m getting older though and learning more about the different departments within the fashion industry, I feel more drawn towards the visual merchandising or styling divisions.

5. In your opinion, how would you describe your sense of style?
My style is very laid back, and casual. I don’t put much effort into my outfits really.

6. What are your plans for the future?
I’m a ‘go with the flow’ kinda girl. I really don’t try to plan too much into the future. I never thought I’d be doing what I’m doing currently so who knows what the future will hold. I do hope to travel within the next year or so.

7. Any favorite bloggers?
I have so many but from the top of my head,I love Yan Yan from Parfasseux, Baitong from Idressmyselff, Hanneli Mustaparta, Chiara Ferragni and The Haute Pursuit.

8. Lastly, can you see yourself in the future becoming a blogger to a bigger worldwide audience?
I honestly have no idea haha.

MEET THE BLOGGER: FIGANDPEAR

1. Could you start by telling us a bit about yourself?
My name is Poppy and I’m 15 from Melbourne, living in the city. I really love shopping/fashion, music and teen wolf! When I’m older, I really want to be stylish cancer surgeon, because I want to help people and get rid of cancer completely :)

 2. Can you tell us about your blog, and what inspired you to start it?
I started my first blog in grade 5 with a friend and it was the worst! Ah I cringe every time I think about it! After that, I made my own and changed styles/blogs almost every year. At one point I had a blog I truly loved the most, it sounds silly but that blog meant a lot to me, that was in 2012. After that, I created this blog and developed it over time into the style it is today, which I’m not really sure what the style actually is to be honest! I reblog a lot of fashion, food occasionally. I really just blog what I like and sometimes I post pictures of myself or my day if I’m feeling extra happy! I’d love to be one of those OOTD bloggers but I don’t have an interesting enough life haha oh gosh.

3. How would you describe your own personal style?
I guess I’m a little bit of a mix, consisting of ‘normcore’, ‘designer’ and ‘blogger’ and myself. I usually only wear black, white, grey and blue, but when I find things I really like I wear them too. I prefer simple to complex because it suits me more and I feel like it’s a cleaner look. I sound so ridiculous but I take what I wear seriously in a way.

4. Favorite Fashion Bloggers / Accounts?
I really like fawnandboy, love-aesthetics and street smith in general, but everyone I follow on tumblr is my favorite basically.

5. Do you have any fashion rules when putting an outfit together?
I generally never put two patterns together unless they’re a ‘set’. I never wear too much jewelry/bright jewelry; a simple necklace and ring is fine enough, nothing else is needed, and earrings don’t count if they’re studs or sleepers. I generally don’t wear too many colors- if I’m wearing a bright yellow jumper I’m not going to wear neon pink shoes. Also, I believe that you can wear all black and all white, but not any other color unless it’s a dress up party- and you have to wear it well!

6. Favorite places to shop?
General Pants, Ksubi, Sportsgirl, Zara, Topshop and wherever catches my eye.

7. What’s the biggest tip you have for anyone wanting to start or maintain a blog?
I guess just be yourself and love what you blog! Find a style and stick to it, but only post what you like. Just have fun, there shouldn’t be stress in running a blog.

8. What do you love most about blogging?
I really love just making a sort of wall that’s never ending and personal. It’s really cool- Like a wall of everything I like, admire and agree with.

BODY IMAGE
 It is okay to be thick, thin, healthy, happy, unsatisfied. Your body is yours alone and your size does not undermine your value as a person. Body image is a horrible way to hate ourselves and what’s sickening is that this is what the world teaches us;
“you’re skinny, go eat a fucking burger.”
“fat girls with big boobs don’t count.”
“stop eating, you’re gaining weight!”
“he doesn’t go to the gym. What a loser!”
This thing is like a virus and it’s spreading like a wildfire, manipulating us, telling us, that we need to change our physicality cause it says so. Nobody has the right to make another feel inferior because of their body. The high standard put on by the world for our body is not the only reason why an individual has body image issues.
Our own mind is another enemy to the body because we continuously deceive ourselves, setting an expectation that our body needs to achieve. Model-like figure, etc. However, it is possible to achieve a healthy self body image with the right mindset!
3 tips on how to accept your body:
 i) Appreciate.
Appreciate yourself and not just your body but you in general. Treat yourself with snacks and candy bars and don’t be afraid if you gain a few pounds. Calories are not your enemies so appreciate. appreciate. Let people think it’s vanity if they want to as long as you appreciate your body. Appreciate yourself.

ii) Goal change!
We tend to hope that our body would miraculously turn into a hourglass-figure one day but that’s not how it works. If your goal is to be skinnier than do not make “be skinnier” as your goal. Instead, make it as “eat healthier” “live holistically” “workout often”. These will not make only make it easier for you to achieve it but it would also result some great extras!

iii) Avoid drama (yikes!)
Yes, teen-high-school-shit-drama, avoid it. This does not only stray you away from the toxic people but it also helps you to give time to yourself. Be happy with yourself and start to count your blessings instead of your flaws. Drama does not only make a person feel hated but it also often causes stress and stress leads to depression and depression to cutting and to suicide so please. Avoid drama. Also, without any stress-burden bags on your shoulder, you can be more positive and positivity is the goal you need to strive for.

BLOG: clubfree

1.Hi Bella, could you start by telling us a bit about yourself?
Hi! I’m Bella, 15, from New Zealand! I’m currently in love with listening to Flume, reading books (it’s winter here) and drinking tea!

 2. Can you tell us about your blog?
Well I used to have a fresh/modern/neon blog but eventually I got bored of it and decided to try a new style! I love indie blogs so my blog is kinda indie but with a personal twist. I love it because I’m not restricted to a single post style, I just post whatever I like.

3. How would you describe your own personal style?
I would say that my personal style is relaxed, comfortable and stylish! When it comes to clothes I just buy whatever I like and lately I have been buying so much striped clothing its crazy.

4. Favorite Bloggers / Accounts?
I don’t really have any specific favourite blogs or bloggers, I just blog from a bunch of different blogs! But if I had to choose some blogs I would probably say opael, blushayz, daihty and recklessclub they all have such perfect blogs!

5. What bands / artists are you listening to at the moment?
I’ve been trying to get into electronic music so currently I’m into Flume, Sam Smith, 5SOS, The Vamps and heaps of others but I can’t think!

6. Do you have any hobbies? If so, what are they?
I love spending time with my friends! I also like to blog (obviously!), shop, read, watch movies and walk!

7. What’s the biggest tip you have for anyone wanting to start or maintain a blog?
Be active! Also have a good theme, stick to a single blog style and be friendly! Don’t be afraid to message people and ask them to check out your blog.

8. What do you love most about blogging?
I love looking through funny blogs and laughing at some of the text posts and photos they have on there, it always cheers me up! I also love chatting and meeting new people over a common interest of blogging. I love everything about blogging!

THE TUMBLR PHENOMENON: I’TS JUST NOT COOL
Things Tumblr has glorified and romanticized to the brink of death- they’re not all they’re cracked up to be…
[[MORE]]
1. Smoking isn’t cool. Let me say it again: smoking isn’t cool.
2. Neither is drug use.
3. Self-harm is not tragically beautiful. It is dangerous and unhealthy, and needs to be treated as such, not as something romantic or lovely. If you self-harm, get help. Period.
4. Being a narcissistic bitch isn’t the way to go about life. Sure, it makes for great text posts, but it alienates you, which is lonely as hell.
5. On the opposite end of the spectrum, low self-esteem isn’t cute. Love yourself and take care of yourself the way that you would take care of your best friend. Don’t let negative thoughts take over your thinking.
6. Depression is a medically recognized illness. For the love of God, don’t self diagnose, don’t throw the term around carelessly, and don’t romanticize it.
7. Same goes for anxiety or other mental disorders.
8. Apathy is not fun. Get excited about something, go out and do something.
9. School is not the worst place imaginable- stop complaining. If you are bullied, teased, suffer from anxiety, etc., that’s a different story. But if you’re just bored, then find something that interests you.
10. Dependency on another human being is not romantic- it’s unhealthy. Enough of this “He/she completes me” bullshit. How about some “I complete myself and they’re along for a hell of a ride”?

*Disclaimer: These are my opinions, not fact. If I said something that was personally offensive to you or that you have a problem with, that was absolutely not my intention. This was more of a rant, not a factual essay.*

If you’ve been following up on the trends this summer you’ve seen the same pieces I have. Summer is a great season for trying new trends, and there have definitely been a few this year. Every girl needs these items in their closet this summer.

1. High Waisted Shorts

These super comfortable alternative to teeny tiny shorts of last year are perfect for when you’re on the go. Seen with a huge tee for a laid back style.

2. Denim Jackets

This versatile jacket made a come back this year with force. You can wear these with almost anything and customize them with patches and pins for a more personalized look.

3. Crop Tops

The 90’s are back with crop tops galore! Everyone I know has one, or a few. They go perfectly paired with something high waisted. They keep you cool and cute in the hot summers as well.

4. Juicy Prints

Is it just me or have I seen pineapple prints everywhere? This tropical print adorns everything from bathing suits to loose shorts to backpacks. It’s a bright and fun trend that I have not seen before.

5. Basic Sandals

We’re going back to the basics this summer with our foot wear. Ankle straps and minimalistic details are seen walking the streets everywhere the sun is burning bright this year.

1.Hi Melody, could you start by telling us a bit about yourself?
Of course, I can! My name is Melody, I’m 18. I’m mixed. I’ve lived in LA all my life, I love anything related to art, fashion, music and I read a ton. I’m obsessed with the sixties, the music around that time was so so incredible. (I might have a tiny crush on 20 year old Mick Jagger.) I hope to move to London in a few years and maybe work for a magazine. I don’t really see myself going down one road for a career, but I do really want to work for British Vogue. I like to say I’m an old soul who has a massive love for mac ‘n cheese & diet coke. I’m really interested in film, photography and writing as well. I’ve always loved art, but I am not a Picasso! I’m a massive animal lover, I love both of my dogs and my cat more than myself. I try to be nice to everyone I encounter, you never know what someone is going through. Also, I have huge love for Queen and Coldplay (and maybe One Direction too, but that’s a secret.)

 2. Can you tell us about your blog, and what inspired you to start it?
My blog is just everything I like, what inspires me and what I inspire to be. When you look at my blog its kind of like looking into my brain. About 4 or 5 years ago my friend mentioned tumblr and around that time I was either 14 or 13. I was having a really tough time and I really wanted a creative outlet or just some place where I could express myself, or a place where I could be myself. My blog is me, but expressed in pictures, and words I’d never really say.

3. How would you describe your own personal style?
My personal style is very grungy, tons of black. And maybe vintage, but only when it comes to band tees!

4. What bands / artists are you listening to at the moment?
Lately I’ve been listening to Devendra Banhart, his voice and lyrics are incredible. I listen to more bands than artists like The Rolling Stones, The Smiths, The 1975, Queen, Coldplay, Vampire Weekend, and Saint Motel. Rizzle Kicks, The Kooks and Drowners have some really good tunes I like to jam too as well.

5. Do you have any hobbies? If so, what are they?
I really love to write, draw, and read. I love writing poetry, getting lost in a book and just drawing whatever comes to my mind. I almost forgot, and photography! There’s something about looking at a photo that just makes it really special.

6. What’s the biggest tip you have for anyone wanting to maintain a blog?
My biggest tip would be is just to be nice and to spread positivity. There are so many people on this site who aren’t as nice. It’s so sad seeing someone with such a nice blog, but they are rude to people who follow them. Also, to spread as much positivity as you can, I’ve also seen a lot of people who have a negative mindset and I just think if there was more positivity it would give those people hope.

7. What do you love most about blogging?
What I really love about blogging is meeting new people from all around the world, I’ve become friends with so many cool and talented people. I’ve even gotten to meet with some of them and its just so amazing how you can be talking to someone who lives all the way in Italy or France. It’s just so fascinating to me!

BASKING IN THE BENEFITS OF BB CREAM

With summer in full swing in many places across the globe, BB cream is a must to add to our makeup bags.Throw it in your carry on, summer tote bag, or makeup touch up pouch and you’re good to go. Not only is it a basic and easy to apply product, it also saves your skin.

The “BB” in BB Cream stands for blemish balm, and is pretty much a miracle in a tube. It is a moisturizer, primer, sunscreen, concealer, and foundation all in one. Starting at about $10 in drug stores, BB Cream is a cheap alternative to buying all of those products. Therefore, it takes up less space and is easy for on-the-go use.

BB Creams are usually found with at least SPF 30 in them, and we all know we need sunscreen in the summer. Keeping your face shielded from the sun’s rays also keeps it looking younger, longer. Think towards the future ladies! It’s also great for the summer because it’s only one layer opposed to the usual 2-5, plus sunscreen. You don’t want to sweat all that makeup off your face, one thin layer of BB Cream should do the trick.

Summer only comes once a year for many of us, and you want to save as much time as you can for friends, not fussing with makeup in the morning. Throw on your BB Cream, a swipe of mascara, a bit of eyebrow gel, and a coat of lip gloss, and you’re good to go. Amaze your friends with your radiantly healthy skin and new makeup style with this one simple product. Just squeeze a bit out onto both your right and middle finger and gently rub into your face, or apply some on the back of your hand and dab with a foundation brush.

BB Cream is worth the hype it’s been getting lately. If you take the time to try out a few until your find your favorite one, you won’t regret it. BB Cream is a great and worthwhile addition to any level makeup collection.
